The Nishiura Family
Megumi understands that parents, alumni, and donors before her have come together to collectively support the renewal of our campus. “To preserve the beauty, continued maintenance and future improvements are important and necessary. We felt compelled to donate, not only for our daughters, but for other students to continue to grow in such a beautiful place.”
The Nishiuras moved to Canada specifically to attend Queen Margaret’s School because they felt the school would provide greater educational opportunities for their daughters. Their love of horses, the beauty of Vancouver Island, and immersion in an English speaking culture made Queen Margaret’s School the obvious choice for the Nishiuras.
Megumi’s hope is that her children [Cerina (11), May (8) and baby Soki] will learn to be generous members of the Cowichan Valley community and the global community as a whole. Service and volunteerism are really at the core of QMS and what makes our school stand apart. These principles, and how our students live them, have made a powerful impression on this family.
Because of families like the Nishiuras, Queen Margaret’s School will continue to be a beautiful school growing in the heart of the Cowichan Valley where children from around the world are welcomed and nurtured. “Children are an asset to me and the entire world,” shares Megumi. “Donating to QMS means everyone benefits.”
