Recently, Queen Margaret's School lost a great friend, leader and community builder. This loss has been felt by our entire School community.
Shelagh Boggs (nee Randel) attended Queen Margaret's School from 1949 to 1953. She eagerly joined the Overseas Old Margaretian Association (OOMA) shortly after graduation to help carry out the School's ideals of loyalty, self-discipline and service. Shelagh also served on the OMS Board of Governors from 2003 to 201 l and ensured her fellow Governors kept the traditions and school ideals at the heart of their strategic decisions.
Shelagh loved her community and gave back in so many ways. She was a smiling face at the OOMA table at each OMS Christmas Bazaar where she sold her hand-knitted scarves and famous pies. She donated innumerable personal hours to school events and alumni meetings, and she was always excited to attend reunions in an effort to share the spirit of OMS while rekindling alumni connections. Shelagh was a passionate Old Girl and dedicated OMS alumna, a friend, and a second mother to many. Most recently, Shelagh was the President of the OOMA until she passed on May 26, 2019.
Shelagh was a passionate person and a vibrant spirit who carried the traditions and values of Queen Margaret's School forward, living them each day. She was generous in sharing her knowledge of OMS history and the legacy of the OOMA with staff, students, and alumni-and for this considerate wisdom, we will be forever grateful.
